How Can We Help?
City Of Coronado Heater Codes: 1-619-522-7300
We work very closely with the City of Coronado to make sure that all the work we do is up to the current building code. Most recently, we asked the city inspector this question:
Do you require a drain pan to be installed underneath a water heater if the unit is located in Garage/Basement/Outside Closet/ Ground Floor Closet/ Attic or 2nd floor closet?
We received this answer: Yes, it is required in all furred locations.
A “furred” location is where thin strips of wood or other material have been used to level or raise surfaces of another material to prevent dampness, to make space for insulation, or to level and resurface ceilings or walls. A second floor closet would be considered a furred location and an attic would definitely be considered a furred location.

Coronado, which is also known as Coronado Island, is a small beach community and resort area located right across the bay from San Diego. With beaches all around, it’s easy to find one to your liking, but we really like Glorietta Bay Beach. It’s got a great view of the bay and is right next to the pier where you can catch a ferry or try your hand at catching some fish. Coronado is mostly an upper-class neighborhood and many of the homes are bigger. Homes on the island have been built up over time beginning in the early 50’s and vary in age.
Most of the homes we have replaced water heaters for have a standard 40 or 50 gallon natural gas water heater. Some of the older homes have basements which is a bit rare in the San Diego area. Homes with basements often have the water heaters in the basement. While this can make installations more challenging, since water heaters have gotten larger over time, Water Heaters Only, Inc is familiar with these types of installation and we are happy to come give you an estimate and make replacing your water heater a smooth and easy experience. Call us 24 hours a day 619-222-3814 and we can schedule an appointment at your convenience.
